Economic relations between Slovakia and Türkiye have entered a dynamic new phase following the inaugural Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO) session held in Istanbul. With bilateral trade already reaching nearly €4 billion, representatives from both nations gathered to convert strategic dialogue into actionable cross-border partnerships. A key highlight of the summit was the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Eximbanka SR and Türk Eximbank, aimed at providing dedicated financial backing, export credit support, and risk mitigation for joint ventures entering third markets. Beyond financial cooperation, discussions focused on energy security, green technology, automotive supply chains, and industrial innovation. This milestone meeting lays a solid foundation as both countries begin preparation for the second JETCO session scheduled for Bratislava in 2027.
